Thanks for the Reply Geocorona.
I'm pretty sure the file sharing on the Server is working properly.
If I connect my laptop to the Linksys (either wired or wirelessly), I am able to use the Server's shared drives without problem. The Linksys is the one that the Server PC is hard wired to port 1 on. Also the Dlink is hardwired to port 2 on the linksys.
The Linksys has a LAN address of 192.168.1.1 and allocates addresses of 192.148.1.##
However I want to connect wirelessly through the Dlink with the laptop, and also a network enabled home theater system to get to the server files. The Dlink is setup with LAN address 192.168.0.1. it allocates addresses of 192.168.0.##
I've tried changing the address of the Dlink to something like 192.168.1.10, I've also tried turning off the Dlink's DHCP server. Neither seem to work. Actually when I turn off the Dlink's DHCP server I am unable to connect at all through it.
Also on the topic of the problem being with the server, I've tried disabling both the linksys and windows XP firewalls without success.
I must've tried 1000 different combinations of settings without avail.
Thanks,
