Hibernation? That sounds more like suspend to RAM. Hibernation is
where the contents of RAM are written to hard disk, and read back in to
restart, which typically takes a noticeable amount of time. Suspend to
RAM is instant by comparison. Regardless, neither has anything to do
with power management.

Yikes! Use contact cleaner (sparingly) instead. Available at Radio
Shack.
