Thanks again for you reply..

My current total RAM is 384 Mb - so stealing 32mb should not be a
problem, don't you agree ?

I have on file the P10 and P09 bios, but they don't change anything as
far as the AGP card is concerned.

My mobo is really an d815eea.. unfortunalety. :-(

As for defective chipset, I doubt that it would work correctly with
driver package version 6.41 if it was the case.

Finally, as you suggested, I also tried to put an old nVidia TNT2
Vanta-LT 8Mb 2x AGP card, but surprisingly (or not ?) I felt it had a
slightly slower performance than the onboard card.

Even with the best will, I think you'll agree it doesn't worth spending
more time on this issue - since I have a working solution - even if I
do not understand why the latest drivers are not working at all..
