Apparently it's also no secret that the iPhone is almost equally
crippled. According to engadget.com, who's playing with 12 of them, you
can't tether a computer to an iPhone via bluetooth or cable, can't
transfer files via bluetooth, and can't even use it as an iPod until it's
activated with AT&T (so much for unlocking it! It only allows emergency
phones calls and no other functions if a non-iTunes activated SIM is
inserted.)

I'm surprised Verizon passed on the iPhone- it's crippled almost to
Verizon spec and beyond!
