I think this is a great idea, If there were a way to inject internet connectivity and cover the costs at a guess i would say there would be a fair few people wanting to move to a system like that.

The way i thought of doing it a while back was to use a DSL solution to connect all the nodes then use a central DSL to feed the internet access. It would even be possible to do some funky routing/tuneling and issue all clients with REAL IP addresses.

People then could be able to wander around AK and still use their connection without worrying about the lo9gistics or changing settings.
