Yeah, but that's exactly what i mean, hardware demand goes up, if you
choose for Vista,(or just a new PC) you have to heavily arm yourself
against virus attacks, those clever guys want you to pay every year for
a subscribtion, okay, there are free versions, but i just noticed there
slipped some worms onto my pc, no i'll do it the other way round, i'll
install Linux, and will use Wine....
There are enough open source projects/software to fill in my needs,
some of the software i now use, are already Java based ones, ProjectX,
Freeguide, and others like VLC, DVDStyler are both available on Linux,
and M$win, and there's even a better choice of VoIP software for Linux....

You can choose your own GUI, Gnome KDE or the likes, or none at all, if
not needed, what more do i want :)
Security is tops, thanks to NSA's SE Linux, although it's not much of a
issue, compared to M$'win...
