You may be correct.

We have big hangar discussions at the airport, 20 of us at a time,
about cellphones, and apparently the other companies like AT&T,
SunCom, US Cellular have credibility, competency, and dishonesty
problems too. Several of our outspoken have switched from Verizon to
AT&T, with good results. So I may try them, or just do without a
cellphone for a while. The overwhelming consensus is that SunCom is
scum. Others using US Cellular say the company is not a common cheat
like some of the others but does not have good coverage, especially
in the boonies.
