I recently had to make the same decision and I wound up going for the Q
with the extended battery pack. The main reason is the Q has a camera
and the 8830 doesn't. Being able to send a picture by email is very
useful for my needs. Otherwise I would have gotten the 8830 - it's very
popular around here.
Warning about checking webmail using the phone's browser - it's harder
than it seems. My Earthlink webmail uses Java to login so I get stuck
right there. If you decide to go with the Q try your webmail on a store
phone first or ask the sales guy.
