Just as with any carrier, if they don't provide native coverage where
you live, they won't provide service. For those of us they do, they
have nationwide coverage:

state=nat
They have nationwide phone service called National Freedom plus North
America Freedom which adds Canada and Mexico + Puerto Rico

Of course, lots of the coverage outside their native service areas are
provided by Sprint and Verizon and the foreign carriers outside the USA.
I think what you are looking for is called the "Smart Pack". Click that
tab. It includes voice and data nationwide.

Most people have no need for Nationwide service, and Alltel doesn't
force it upon them with higher prices or restricted minutes if they
don't need it. For them, a Greater Freedom plan with added $10 or $25
unlimited data makes MUCH more sense. My plan in SC/NC/parts of VA-GA-
TN is far wider than I usually travel. 700 min is $40 + 100 more
minutes for being a nice guy + $25 for EVDO unlimited...is really cheap
with lots more minutes. If I'm vacationing or sailing off on someone's
yacht to Florida, I just call 611 and order 100 mins of nationwide MORE
minutes for $10. The nationwide minutes start to use up after I leave
my normal service area, nearly to Jacksonville, FL, and I can tell
Alltel to add 100 more mins for $10 more when those run out without
having to call them. As soon as I'm back in my area, they stop using
and I go back to using my normal 800 minutes and plan freebies. I'm
never forced to pay for roaming in Miami just because my plan doesn't
cover it. The data plan is SEPARATE from my voice plan and is always
nationwide unlimited wherever Alltel has data service, which isn't as
much as the voice, of course.
The MyCircle in the list is the number of minute free phone numbers on
ANY system you can call 24/7/365. My little $40 plan now has ONE My
Circle number I can call for free. It's assigned to a friend on
Verizon. I can call her, but she has to pay to call me....(c;
Sorry you're not in an Alltel area. They really do have the best deals.
