Got it. Macau and Hong Kong aren't countries (though they have their
own telephone country codes, their own currencies and their own
customs and immigration, like Taiwan, the United Nations apparently
agrees with China about Taiwan, and even Taiwan agreed with China
about Taiwan a few decades ago), but their urban areas are still
a lot more densely packed than Taiwan's yet they seem to have no difficulty
building an impeccable GSM infrastructure under those conditions. I
think the latter is evidence that there's no place on earth (yet) with
a population density too high for GSM to work well.
