I was once told by someone who should know that the kinder carers of
quadroplegics sometimes give them a little treat, usually at bathtime.

Unrelated to the above, I have worked in spinal injury units where there are
many young men who have have had silly motorbike accidents and who are
condemned to a life of almost total paralysis. I can't tell you how sorry it
makes me feel for them, and how sad it leaves me.
