True.

I dont actually WATCH video much, I mostly just listen
to the audio and glance at the screen ocassionally.

I didnt say movies, I dont watch them much at all, its mostly recorded TV.

I've never ever had any eyestrain at all in my entire life.

8GB isnt much for that stuff. I routinely need 30GB an evening, sometimes 50GB.
I dont necessarily watch all that, some of its just recording from the first item that
channel has of interest that evening till the last of interest that evening, rather than
farting around with recording individual programs. I'm toying with the idea of
assembling another PVR with a couple of 1TB drives and just spolling everything
to the drives and then watching what I want off them later, particularly when
I go away for a couple of weeks etc. Even 2TB is a bit marginal for that tho.
I agree in some ways about the 8GB, its hard to justify the need for it over
the standard N95 with say a 4GB SD card, except that its another iteration
of the design and has a marginally better screen etc and time on battery etc.
I dont plan to replace it in a year or so, so basically went for the version with
more future and was irritated that I couldnt have NextG too, tho I dont plan
to use that any time soon. I had waited long enough basically and wasnt
prepared to wait any longer and put up with the limitations of the 6310i
any longer, particularly the lack of a camera. I find the camera very handy
when checking whose got what with a particular product and find it a lot
more convenient to take a photo of the shelf price sticker etc than to fart
around entering the text manually etc. |
