Goodness no. I needed to have iTunes open in order to get ZiPhone
working. There are plenty of tutorials out there but here's one I did
for uk.rec.motorcycles recently which is about an "out of the box"
iPhone including details of how to upgrade it to 1.1.4 using iTunes:
