Total BS! It's amazing how much miss-information is out there.

Verizon activated my ebay purchased CDMA Treo 650 through tech support with
no charge.

All you have to do is call them and explain that you do not want a data plan
and that you want to use the PDA portion of your phone without all the
internet junk. Very simple. You just can't activate it over the web like
you could their normal phones.

No , you cant send pictures then but so freaking what? That's why my phone
has a Sim slot and a USB cable. If I want to send photos or videos from my
phone then I will use my computer to send them. Why pay for two ISPs?
