Well,
the results are in for the first phase. I never realised how small the area of the Auckland cbd that I drove around was until I looked at my gps log this morning - I'll need to go again and fill in the holes.

Note that in this image are 318 Access points - 40 odd never got a gps lock due to trees/buildings/etc but the others are definitely listed, just the gps only outputs one position every second and at times network stumbler may have picked up 3 or 4 AP's at once and it only shows the point of strongest signal.
