The phone inside my friends car is also the same, also got GPS sat nav
built in, but she uses the TOM TOm as it is better.

French Telecome, the same people who Owns Freeserve which is now
Wannadoo. By all accounts Wannadoo name will also be changed to Orange
soon.
I expect they will get into this VOIP thing as well.

T-Mobile is German. Vodaphone is still British and so far so is o2.

I got no idea what 3 is, I think it is dutch.
