What a great article. I will have to get another notebook and see if I
can break my neighbor's WEP (with his knowledge -- he likes that sort
of thing).

The article describes using a deauthorization attack as part of a
technique generate more packets. I have never heard of a
deauthorization attack before, but it seems to fall under the category
of denial-of-service. Is there any defense against it? Yes, I did a
google on it, and found this article
http://sysnet.ucsd.edu/~bellardo/pub...dos-slides.pdf,
but all it really seems to say is that it is easy to see when you are
being deauth'd and it would be easy to modify an 802.11x implementation
(not the protocol spec) to avoid the attack. So in practical terms,
how do I avoid a deauth attack while using my Netgear wireless router
and Orinoco wireless card?
