As i understand this is not an issue with your router, because you need to open some of the ports for your router Ex. port no 80 udp,88tcp,udp,
3074tcp & udp,and 4672 udp.These ports have to be open,and also as you said you bought a G router so check for the wireless channel it should be in 6 or 9.And make sure the firewall is disabled on the router..This will fix your issue.....
