Yeah, I mentioned that silly little brick already. Unlike the majority of
phone in Japan, iPhone does not have 1seg built in so you have to spend an
extra 10,000 yen to carry around a separate 1seg tuner.

I saw it demoed at Yodobashi and it looked quite geeky. The girl who was
doing the demo was visibly embarassed. It wasn't selling. If you want
1seg, you'll buy a real phone with 1seg built in.

Only low-end phones (like iPhone) in Japan lack 1seg tuners these days.
