If you included the context, you'd see that I'm talking about it feeling
much faster then the 3G running OS 2.2.1, not any other phone.

1250Kb/s down, 110Kb/s up, tested 6 times throughout the day today,
always in that ballpark, save for one test at 998kb/s.

It's a couple orders of magnatude faster then that (which largely shows
off how slow the iPhone 3G 2.x was, but that's another story)
I'm also seeing speeds of up to 9Mb/s or so via WiFi, which is far
faster then anything the 3G was capable of doing.
