Default Wireless Card Mumbo Jumbo

Okay, so, I have had my computer for a few years now, and it is already pretty much outdated. It came with a wireless card when i bought it, and the card worked just fine for about a year. Then, the card started to be unreliable, and it would only work about 25% of the time. It was completely random when it worked and didnt work. I recently reset my computer to the factory defaults, and that fixed my wireless card problem within a week. Today, however, it has quit on me again. There is a switch and a light on the front of the computer, and the light will turn blue when it is on, orange when it is off. It turn blue during the start-up (when it works). Today, it did not turn blue. I am thinking this is because I accidentally plugged in my USB wireless adapter, and maybe the adapter has, like, a dominance over my default card? I looked through the computer manager and it said that everything was working just fine, but when i unplug the USB Wireless Adapter, i have no internet, meaning my default card still isnt turning on. Any ideas? Any and all suggestions are welcome.
