I did the last step first - a "call waiting enabled for voice calls"
type message came up. I tried it out and it worked - I got a bleep
and a message on the phone when another call came in - this is with
Orange contract. So the lady at the customer care told me an outright
lie.

I tried that with my Orange PAYG and the "check" option said it was
not enabled. I tried to enable it and it came out with a "not
available" error.

With the menu's - strange that it's not even there on the Nokia
contract phone yet that supports it. On the Samsung PAYG, the menu
option is there but it's greyed out and apparently doesn't work. I've
not tried to switch SIMs - don't want to break anything!

Seems uswitch.com thinks I should be on Vodafone or Virgin so I'll
have a look at that.
