If it's an upstairs/downstairs problem, try turning one of the antenni horizontal and see if your connection status changes to very good or excellent. Also, have you turned security on to your router, and changed the name of it? There are a million linksys routers out there that are wide open and defaulted as 'linksys'. It could be you're not even connecting to your router...
