Yes my VIA based pc is a bit suspect too. I suspect it may have something to do with power saving or something related to ACPI. When running Atheros drivers can tend to lock up while computer is idle, or when I am out of the room. The latest Hyperion drivers seemed to help but it still gives a bit of trouble. My next PC won't be VIA chipset anyway.
