Default Creating a wireless connection

Hi,

Am really new to wireless networking, so please can anybody help?

I have the following set up:

1. Desktop connected to Netgear DG834GT (modem & router) via ethernet cable and card.
2. Laptop: Acer Aspire 5672 WLMi with Intel Core Duo T2300 CPU, and Intel PRO / Wireless 3945ABG.

Both are running on Windows XP Home with SP2.

The desktop works perfectly and connects to the internet with my broadband connection. My ISP is Virgin.net.

The laptop taskbar icon for wireless shows a red X and Says " Wireless Network Connection Not Connected.

Double clicking on this brings up a box with 3 wireless networks available, of which mine; Paul'swire, is one. When I click on it it says Waiting for network, then it disappears and I am not connected.

Network Connections from control panel, also says Wireless Network connection not connected.

I have tried to use Acer eNet management, which shows Paul'swire with a very strong signal. It tries to connect and then says "Connection to WLAN failed".

Then I doubled click on the wireless connection on the taskbar, and it now says "windows cannot configure this wireless connection. if you have enabled another program to manage this connection, use that software".

All i want is to share my broadband connection, can anybody please help me.

Thanks

Paul
