Somehow folks get the idea that everything can be up 24x7. Folks who
maintain websites and the backends that support them need to do periodic
maintenance and upgrades. And then there are the times when things
aren't going as planned when something fails.

When they plan it you will see an announcement. I have seen the "our
website will be down for maintenance on Sunday morning from x-y" notice
on every online account I access an at some time.
