opps more to follow up heres my current details ...

Router IP 192.168.1.2
AP IP 192.168.0.254

My router config for the internet..

IP 192.168.1.115
Gateway.. 192.168.1.2

I can see that the AP and my IP are two different numbers but I cant get in to change the stupid AP Addy my system just cant seem to find it weither its connected through the router on directly into my network card .

it would be great if you could start from the begining in terms of what needs to be plug into what to try and talk to the AP once I can get into the config for the AP I should be away . Sorry all if I sound stupid ...probably because I am when it comes to networking.
