It works well.

Yes.

Is it easy to add stops mid-route, or select specific

Yes for adding stops, not really for specific routes. For the latter you
can choose detours once it chooses the route it thinks is the best, but
it doesn't offer you a choice of routes at the beginning.

You can also have it choose a route based on the mode of
travel.(walking, bicycle, automobile, RV, or motorcycle.
