He is trying to connect his laptop to the net via wireless and it works fine when the signal reads 5 bars, but as soon as he moves somewhere else in the house and it drops to 2 bars he cant connect.
He can however connect to next doors wireless when it is at 2 bars of signal...
Anywhere to try and start looking would be great and all help would be appreciated.

knowing the make and model of router will be of great help here, but it seems like the transmit power setting of your wireless router is low, check the router and try adjusting the TX power or better still list make and model.
