Hi all, I just got my new Cingular 2125 Smartphone today as part of a 2
year contract with Cingular for the $39.99 per month plan. Actually I
came across this deal at Wirefly.com and got the phone for free (after
mail-in rebates). I'm very happy to get this phone. It's the first
smartphone that I own and looks and works great, but there are a couple
of things that are causing doubts in my mind. First, there was an
unheard voice mail when I turned on the phone for the first time and
it's probably not for me. Btw, I got a new phone number with this
phone. Secondly, when I turned it on for the first time, the date and
time as shown by Windows Mobile were not correct (the date was showing
as May 26, 2006). I could set the current date and time through
settings after that. (btw, shouldn't the date and time be broadcast
over the network instead of setting it locally in the phone?)

So I am wondering if the phone is a new one. It looks like new and
probably is, but I just want to be more sure that Wirefly didn't give
me a refurbished phone. About the unheard voice mail, I think that's
probably for the person who had this phone number, and might not have
anything to do with the phone. But again, I'm not totally sure. Any
feedback or suggestion on this will be greatly appreciated.
