I just purchased my first USB wireless adapter, i think its an importer520, it has a detachable antenna and i would imagine the connection is SMA?

I am thinking about purchasing an outdoor antenna to put on my roof. If i do this i will need about 40 feet of cable. I understand the lowloss SMA cable is pretty expensive.

Since my wireless adapter is usb, I was wondering if i could use the phone line instead of buying the SMA cable. Running USB through phone lines can be seen here youtube/watch?v=j9Olbn02X3s (It wont let me post URLS!) You can go pretty far with these, but I was wondering if i will have a larger loss in signal/strength by doing this rather than SMA cable.

Any input would be great!
