Except it probably didn't save them anything. The SPN4716 is physically
a lot larger than the smaller charger they include. It actually would
cost them less to build the SPN4716. However since most people charge
their phone overnight, and since most people would prefer a smaller
charger, the 375mA charger became the standard charger included with the
phones.
