VPN to work from personal laptop Hi all - new poster here.
Slightly *ahem* embarrassing question: I was working from home on my personal laptop (not corporate owned) and had connected to my work computer/network via Cisco Anyconnect VPN. Once I was finished with my work tasks, I forgot to close the VPN connection and about two hours later I opened a NSFW website using my personal laptop web browser. Is there any chance that they can see this activity? I use Comodo Firewall on my personal laptop, if that is of any use.
Is there anything I can do to check if they can see what I was browsing? Is connecting my VPN and running an IP trace, then disconnecting it and running the trace again to see if I get the same IP really telling me anything (as another website intimated)? Would I have a different IP if the VPN was tracking my activity?
Even if they can see it, is the fact that it is my personal laptop, rather than a work one, helpful to me? I'm guessing the chances of someone even monitoring this is very small, but you know how paranoia is. Do you hear knocking?
Thanks, appreciate your thoughts. |
