Nope, but Barbados does have internet service either Ethernet or Wifi in
the hotels for you to use.......so.......(c; Unfortunately, Skype
doesn't have one of its cheap hotspots in Barbados, now called "Skype
Zones", where Skype has made a deal for its users to use hotspots you
have to pay for, without charge for Skype customers to use Skype. This
service is $7.95/month and is something new for Skype. There's already
20,000 paid hotspots online, 2800+ in the USA. UPS Stores are all Skype
Zone hotspots, now. Bahamas has one hotel, Aruba has 8, more are signing
up every month as deals are made.

Download Skype for free from www.skype.com and install it on your laptop
and all the people's computers back home you want to talk to....

At your hotel, connect up to the hotel's wifi any way you can....or to
some cyber cafe they love in small countries.

SKYPE 'EM FOR FREE!....anywhere on the planet the internet goes....(c;

There, I said it....and probably am gonna pay for it, dearly...hee hee.

There's another Skype trick which will cost you $28/YEAR.....Skype
In...at home. Sign up for a Skype In phone number before you leave for
Barbados, there's one in every major US city or one close to where you
live. Tell your friends to call that number while you're gone, instead
of trying to cellphone you across the incompatible, overpriced monsters
cellular companies have become. In Barbados, just boot your computer
online and boot Skype. (I like the Linksys CIT200 wireless Skype phone
plugged into the USB port on my laptop, myself. It's base station has
about a 300' range out on the beach by the hotel patio bar. It'll go way
out on the beach if you get a room on the beach side and put the CIT200
base unit on the 10th floor balcony! There, now THEY can call YOU for
FREE from any phone back home, just dialing your Skype In phone number.
YOU will be paying nothing to take these calls until January, 2007, when
the price goes way up to 2.1c/minute.

Calls from your Skype to any Barbados telephone, even from Barbados, is
$US0.20/min deducted from your precharged Skype Out account (no monthly
charges, just usage). Still MUCH cheaper than a Barbados rental
cellphone I bet! I've never been overseas on Skype, yet, but they MAY
charge you 20c/min to call your Skype in Barbados from your Skype In in
the USA. I think that's the way it's supposed to work. Even then, find
a 20c/min phone in Barbados to the states where the other folks can call
you for free....

Skype is cheap...Skype In, your own number, is $28/YEAR!.....

If you just need to call the office or home from Barbados, use Skype-to-
Skype, which is always FREE, computer to computer and forget all the rest
of the stuff. Just set up a time schedule when both ends will be online
and available to accept calls between you. The hotel may charge you
internet access fees down there.....but that's cheap compared to
international cellular phone dialing charges!

Of course, we'll expect bottles of some great rums upon your return. Our
Customs Service spies will notify us how many bottles they found in your
luggage for us....(c; You won't be allowed back in unless you bring us
some....
