I don't know. Sometimes I get "your calling party has disconnected" when
they end the call, so it ends my call too (even when they are the
"called" party so it is not dependent on who initiated the call). But
sometimes I'll see the option to "Return to the Call in Progress," even
though I thought the call was over, and wonder how many minutes I used
on that call.

Not sure if it's a Verizon thing or a handset thing. When I had flip
phones it ended the call when you closed the phone, but with my Android
phone you need to really end the call.
