You're absolutely right, and we've got one "in waiting" (see my other
reply on this thread(. Equally, if you're a regular reader of the
Saturday papers Money sections, you'll be aware of the hassle that some
banks can put you through to actually acknowledge and work with a power
of attorney.
In reality, whenever I've had to sort problems out, I generally do it
when I'm at her house, and once she's spoken to the institution on the
phone, she hands the phone to me, and they're happy to talk to me, which
is the quickest and easiest way of doing it, and which is what I'm
trying to achieve from 250 miles away! |
