Well for the time being I am going with a Linksys WAP54g AP with 16metres of low loss cable (will be shortened at a later date) to a 15db omni. the AP puts out 15db also, so according to my rough calculations its putting out about 26.5db at the moment and that will rais to about 29.8db when I shorten the cable . I have mounted the omni to a 8 metre 40x40x3mm box section steel pole to elevate, and I may weld more steel onto it at a later date to elevate even further. Next acquirment will be a hardware firewall to allow me to remove all WEP and MAC restrictions currently in place. So got the basics, just need to finish testing and configuiring and install the fw, then its all go.
