It all should be more clear from the phone manual. I've understood that
Cingular does not necessarily include a proper phone manual, perhaps you
should download one from the nokia web.

The idea of profiles is mainly that you can set all the tones (some other
stuff too) on one go. Silent is "pre-programmed" to have all tones off,
ringing tone, keypad tones, battery alert etc. Meeting profile is "not as
silent as silent" but still appropriate for meetings as one could guess.
Outdoor on the other hand has most of the tones set to maximum so that it is
possible to hear the phone ring etc. if the environment is noisy.

I believe all the profiles can be customised to what ever you want, even
silent can be set to ring at full volume etc.

Don't have any answer for the Cingular Mall question.
