I want to be able to set a wlan up from work to my home.

I can see town from my home and its all flat the only problem is that there are buildings in the way of my line of site, although I can see Somes Is which has a wireless lan antenna (or so i've heard) on top of it.

Anyway My home is approx 2km north of my work.

Is it possible (in some shape of form) to have an Antenna with a big mother of an amp attached to it to broadcast the correct frequency 2km's to my house which I assume would need another antenna with a big mother of a amp attached to it.

Reason I want to do this is 1) im very interested in this wireless stuff
and 2) my work has unlimited 100mb/s citylink that i wish to take advantage of.

My boss has said that it is ok for me to use the citylink connection if i can somehow connect from home.
