Firstly, this is not a forum it is a newsgroup. Not pedantry, there are
specific differences.
Secondly, they are not *my* rules and it is not me personally telling you
what you can or cannot do, it is *common sense* and *respect for other
people*. This group, as with all others in the uk. hierarchy are created
to specific rules laid down and one of them is that if the group charter
specifies no advertising then that is what should be respected.
Also Stefan you should be aware that consistent abuse can and will be
reported to the poster's ISP. They have been known to revoke an account in
extreme circumstances, so you may want to rethink your attitude. The
"it's-the-internet-and-I-can-do-as-I-like-and-you-can't-stop-me" attitude
is childish and serves only to confirm other people's attitudes towards
you and your actions.
It may well be the internet but you *cannot* do exactly as you please in
all circumstances, there *are* rules that you should abide by and only
someone with no regard for others would disregard them.

attitude to usenet abuse - note this line from that document:
8. Do not post advertisements into newsgroups of a non-commercial bias.
A Google search on "usenet abuse" will produce a lot more.
