You're from USA? (Guessing from the Verizon address). If so, not only must
your phone be unlocked but must also be able to run on 900MHz and 1800MHz.
The O2 SIM cards recommended elsewhere in this thread will work on 900MHz,
though coverage will be better if you can also use 1800MHz.

If your phone can do 1800MHz but not 900MHz then O2 would be a bad idea.
In that case get a Virgin Mobile SIM. Free incoming calls, and calls back
to USA are 20p/min billed per second.

(For the UK folks, I've seen 850/1800/1900 phones...)
