No I have a router in STRICT sence. Its not a modem with router features. I have enabled DHCP on the router and not on the DLink access point. Hence may be I feel that the router is assigning a different IP address to the access point but the default gateway is still my SMC router, not the access point. Hence I see my SMC routers IP address as the default gateway(192.168.1.1). So trying the default gateway's IP address will only connect me to the SMC router and not the access point. But what I dont get is that why cant I access a website AT FIRST ATTEMPT?? And why does this happen whether one computer or many computers are on network?? The service providers say that its not the ADSL line problem. My router is fine. I checked its configuration. Somehow I feel its the DLink Access point.. But I am not able to connect to my router.
