Default O2 XDA Orbit questions

Just had one of these delivered and a coule of questions if anyone has
had them.
1. I get the message that says there is no SIM card. I know what the
promblem is, the battery does not 'push' the sim card against the
connections. If I squeeze the phone to make it connect it is fine but
I have to reenter the pin. I have seen someone say that they put a
piece of paper between the battery and the sim to help push it against
the contacts. An alternative would be to send it back but if I am just
going to have the same problem I might as well do the paper fix. Has
anyone else had this ?
2. This may sound like a daft question but... I bought the co-pilot
sat nav which was supplied with a micro sd card. Has anyone tried
installing a larger sd card than the one supplied and somehow using
the c-pilot on the larger card? It is just that I used to keep a lot
of music and audio stuff on my old nokia and would like to do the
same, but I am concerned about putting stuff on the sim if it is
mainly (or completely) for the co-pilot. Any one tried ?

Many thanks

For info, if it wasn't for the problem of the sim card the orbit seems
a nice bit of kit although it is going to take me ages to get used to
all the features I suspect.
