Some states make it illegal to drive without a handsfree cellphone
device, and a Bluetooth headset is more functional and comfortable
than a wired earpiece and cheaper than a speakerphone setup in your
car. I like the fact that with the Scala 500, you can answer a call by
tapping your ear with your shoulder if you've got your hands full.

I agree, though...if you're wearing it around but not talking and/or
driving, just wearing it on standby, you do look kind of toolish, like
you're auditioning for Star Trek or something. Actually, that's
another bonus with the Scala 500. It's low-profile and the BT light
just flashes every 10 seconds or so, not like it's trying to be a
piece of techy jewelry.
