Default Re: The last day Verizon Wireless will provide analog cellular service will be February 18, 2008

John,
My sister had what they called an "analog-only" plan. Instead of discussing
the plan on the phone, I called and just switched the ESN to a digital
(w/analog) phone. There was no discussion about changing the plan
($6.95/mo. + .32/min). Today, you should be able to just switch the ESN
online.

If you can find your own phone with a clean ESN (eBay?) you can probably
make the switch just as easily. The idea is just to switch the ESN, nothing
else. Remember, any phone activated today must be E911-compatible, but
there's a lot of them available. The best old phone that qualifies is the
Motorola v60s.
