Verizon should be severely chastised for the crap they pull with their
handsets and disabling features.

Personally I'd rather hack the Verizon phone to restore the capability
they removed than lose coverage by going to Cingular, but if it's only
slightly worse then I guess it's no big deal. In my area, the San
Francisco Bay Area, the Cingular coverage is significantly poorer than
the Verizon coverage, but I've been in places such as South Florida
where Cingular coverage is excellent.
