Default Advice

VOIP is the most common use for people. It is also called VOIP lines or trunks. If you have a high speed internet connection, like cable modem, DSL, or T1, you can use your high speed connection to make phone calls on the internet. It has many advantages for us. VoIP can turn a standard Internet connection into a way to place free phone calls.

Hi there Michael,

VOIP is a pneumonic for Voice Over Internet Protocol. Simply it is voice transmission and/or making telephone calls over the internet which is mainly popular for international calls. VOIP is very cost effective and much cheaper than standard telephone calls. All you need is a VOIP enabled handset and a special "connection box" - you connect via your home based internet and viola, you have VOIP phone calls. If you have the Skype program you can chat VOIP with other Skype users for free. If you want further details, let me know and I can explain it further. I didnt want too get to technical in this reply!

Cheers, hope that helps?

VoIP and IP telephony are becoming increasingly popular with large corporations and consumers alike.I have Internet connection.I want software to make calls on mobile or landline from my PC via Internet.I have had good luck with Skype on my computer.I think it all depends on preference and what your end goal is.VoIP is a technology that allows telephone calls to be made over computer networks like the Internet.
