Default Apple iPhone blew them away again! APPL profits up 47%

The markets are now closed and Apple just released their quarterly
results.

The iPhone and Apple continue to steamroller the market in a
recession.

Who would have thunk it?

yes, Apple jumped 12 points on the blowout sales numbers, stock is now
at a record high for the entire history of firm.

china iphones go on sale at 1000 outlets in a few weeks.

21 million iphones sold over the last 365 days, they are having trouble
building enough.

I don't think that's going to make much difference. This
morning's South China Morning Post says that Unicom will be
selling the 16 GB phone for as high as RMB6,999, and the 32 GB
phone for as high as RMB7,000, with a 24 month contract. A 16 GB
phone smuggled in from Hong Kong, however, sells for only
RMB5,500 and requires no service commitment. I think that
market was already well taken care of.

The chief operating officer was quoted as saying:

"We're going to start with 1000 points of sale and expand further over
the next several months," Cook said. "They've announced the plans and
pricing for the device and the service, a very wide range from
$18/month to $85/month. At the higher price point an individual gets
the device for free and it goes up as you go down, like in most
countries. "
