Default Best dumbphone for AT&T Wireless?

My issues with Verizon are becoming overwhelming. I would like to try
AT&T Wireless service.

I care about call completion, voice quality, and performance in fringe
areas. I use SMS and camera infrequently. Given these priorities, what
is the best (dumb) handset to use with AT&T? I prefer a flip phone but
if I hae to switch to the candybar form factor I will.

You're assuming his "issues with Verizon" are not service related. If
he's not getting good cellular service from them in his area, switching
to a Verizon reseller isn't going to fix it.

Believe it or not, my issue is with Verizon's "towers and actual phone
service."

At my home, incoming calls go straight to voice mail, with alarming
frequency. No problem with outgoing calls. No problem with service at
my office.

Obviously, Verizon's network is intermittently failing to route calls
to my cell phone. A succession of Verizon reps has instructed me to
update my roaming list, update my phone software, and even switch to a
more expensive voice plan (!). What Verizon has not done is search for
the problem in their network. Most likely, the tower nearest to my home
is frequently too busy to route incoming calls. I won't ever know for
sure because I can't get any meaningful action out of Verizon.

I know that AT&T sucks, but it is likely to be superior to Verizon in
my situation.

No, you can't, not if it's an AT&T GSM phone.

....nevermind, TOTALLY misread the OP, who is talking about switching to
AT&T *FROM* Verizon.
