"Cingular goes 'big' with ads in fourth quarter"
I love the line at the end:
""We've been thrilled with (the ads)," says Owen. "We've gained
customers every quarter since the merger took place. The network is the
difference, and we've been able to convey that message through advertising."
Uh, they gained customers every quarter before the merger as well, and
their market share was steadily falling until last quarter, when
Sprint's problems allowed a very slight increase.
He's right about one thing, "the network is the difference," which is
why Cingular did so poorly in the Consumer Reports survey.
